Mutharika instructs NPC to stop policy disruption in vision 2063

President Professor Peter Muthalika has instructed national planning commission NPC to stop disrupting policies in the implementation of vision 2063.

Mutharika said this in Lilongwe when launching consultative process for vision 2020 successor plan.

He said the main problem which vision 2020 faced was policy disruption therefore new administration of the commission must not change them without proper reasons.

Mutharika asked the commission to ensure other development plans are implemented.

The president asked the youth to take interest in the vision 2063 development plan and contribute their ideas.

He said Malawi has achieved many in the past 20 years but more should be achieved in the next 40 years.

“The country has reduced poverty, maternal and child deaths, HIV AIDS deaths, increased enrollment in schools, expand road networks, tackled gender equality and climate change among others. Many people are still in poverty, economy is weak, electricity capacity inadequate and the country not yet industrialized just to mention a few,” Mutharika says

The Malawi leader asked Malawians to do right things which the nation has done wrong 20 years ago.

He urged Ministry of finance, economic planning and development to make sure that the commission is properly and timely funded.

Mutharika encouraged living decent lives without waiting for donations or handouts and focus on rural areas in development.

The president concluded his speech by urging every Malawian to take part in making great future for children

Then Mutharika handed over trophies to five transformative drivers on education, agriculture and health.
