Pregnant woman murdered, breasts chopped off

Police in the Lakeshore district of Nkhotakota are hunting for unknown suspects who brutally murdered a 7 months pregnant woman and chopped off her breasts

Police has identified the deceased as Florence Herbert aged 25 who was discovered dead on October 12 after going missing since the night of Saturday October 10.

According to Nkhotakota police station public relations officer Williams Kaponda on Saturday the husband went to Mwansambo village and she was left alone.

“After a night chat she left for her house to sleep but the following morning her neighbours wondered as she could not be seen around,” said Kaponda

After a 2 day search her body was found at a distance about a kilometer away from her house.

postmortem at Nkhotakota district hospital revealed that the woman died due to bleeding secondary to cut wounds.

Kaponda appeals to the public that anyone with information that could be helpful in tracing and arresting perpetrators of such inhuman acts should come forward and assist police in making strides
