President Mutharika Tells Civil Society Organizations To Stop Demonstrations

President Professor Peter Mutharika has told Civil Society Organizations to stop holding demonstrations in the country.

Mutharika said this at Kamuzu International Airport in Lilongwe upon arrival from United Nations General Assembly UNGA in United States of America.

He said was happy that few people participated in nationwide demonstrations.

“I believe in dialogue as the only way to resolve challenges,” Mutharika said

He stopped in South Africa on his way from United States of America.

Mutharika departed Malawi in the afternoon of 21 September 2018 after the demonstrations.

However, he defied court order to receive the petition from the demonstrators.
