Sound Seekers introduces education project in Malawi

Sound Seekers has implemented a new education project which seeks to increase access and quality education to children who are deaf in 12 mainstream primary schools in the southern region of Malawi.

Project manager for the organisation Bryan Mkandawire revealed this today during a district executive committee in Mangochi.

“The project was introduced from the background that children with hearing loss experience numerous challenges in schools,” Mkandawire said.

He further said they will engage other partners to reduce school dropout rate in the southern region.

Mkandawire added that the project will train 90 special needs teachers who cannot provide special support needed by deaf pupils who are in mainstream schools.
