Vice President Warns Officials of Relief Distribution against Abuse

Vice president has advised officials in charge of relief items meant for people affected by disasters to distribute to right beneficiaries.

Everton Chimulirenji was speaking at Chisawa primary school during distribution of the relief items to flood victims in the area of Traditional Authority Chimwala, Mangochi district.

Chimulirenji said the items were donated by Southern African Trade and Development Bank TDB of Kenya through Alliance One Limited.

“TDB Bank provided 100 thousand dollars which is approximately 75 million kwacha for the purchase of food, sanitation, health and shelter items for 485 households in the area,” he said

Chimulirenji asked chiefs and people in Mangochi to support government in its development agenda.

During the donation Hugh Saunders managing director of Alliance One Limited applauded government for taking care of victims of disasters.
