Chief Justice disbars lawyers

Chief Justice Rezine Mzikamanda has disbarred two lawyers Nicely Msowoya and Richie Katsichi for two years, over embezzlement of their clients’ money.

However the two year suspension will take into consideration the one year suspension that Malawi Law Society disciplinary committee imposed on the two.

This follows an application by the Attorney General Thabo Chakaka for the court to suspend the two.

Msowoya embezzled money amounting to less than five million Kwacha for his client while Katsichi embezzled less than 1.4 Kwacha for his client.

However the two paid the money to their clients after the disciplinary hearing by Malawi Law Society.
