Couple Arrested of Albino Child Sale

Police in Ntcheu are keeping in custody a couple for allegedly offering for sale, a 4 year old boy with albinism and a village headman for possessing firearms.

Ntcheu police publicist Hastings Chigalu told radio Islam, that the couple who are Mozambican nationals were arrested at Tsangano after well wishers tipped police that they were offering for sale the boy.

According to Chigalu, “the suspects told police officers who paused as serious buyers of the firearms that they were being kept by the village headman in Neno.”

Malawi has been experiencing abductions and killings of people with albinism.

Many cases are still in court while few convicts were sentenced to 21 years and life imprisonment.
