Covid-19 jeopardizes CAM yearly cancer awareness campaigns.

Cancer Association of Malawi says covid-19 has jeopardized its yearly cancer awareness campaigns.

CAM chairperson Regina Njima in an interview with Radio Islam said are lacking resources to reach out to rural masses in line with the covid-19 preventive measures.

In this regard Njilima said this year CAM will only engage key stakeholders in the rural masses to assist in delivering the messages to their subjects to avoid attracting large crowds.

Njilima further said so far people are now aware of the disease but said there is need to do more to ensure that people go for screening.

During the final mounths of the every year Cancer Association of Malawi conduct activities in a bid to raise awareness on the dangers of cancer for both male and females.

“In September we supposed to give awareness of cancers below the belt and these are cancers affecting women, in October we were supposed give awareness to the breast cancer and this November we are supposed to give awareness to the men’s cancer particularly prostate cancer”, said Njilima.
