IHAM Commends Govt-Muslims Cordial Relationship

Islamic Health Association of Malawi IHAM has commended good working relationship between government and Muslims in providing quality health care to Malawians.

The remarks come as IHAM prepares to sign memorandum of understanding MOU between government and Islamic organizations that are providing health services.

Speaking to Radio Islam Hajj Daitoni, executive secretary for the association said the much awaited MOU is an indication that government recognizes contribution of Islamic organizations to health sector.

Access to good and quality health care is a right for everyone as stipulated in the constitution of Malawi

However, government cannot achieve this alone therefore the support from stakeholders like Islamic health Association of Malawi IHAM cannot be underestimated.

Established in 2011, IHAM is an umbrella body for all Islamic organizations that provide health services to Malawians both in rural and urban areas.

Muli Bwanali, the acting programs Manager for the Association says “the coming together of these health organizations has helped to promote health care in the country as free services are provided to the needy.”

Bwanali has therefore called upon all Malawians to access health service in IHAM hospitals adding the services are of good quality.

Hajj Dytoni, executive Secretary for Islamic Health Association plans are underway to establish a college where Muslim doctors can specialize in their fields.

Madina Social Services, Limbe Muslim Jamaat, Social Islamic Development, Albarakah Charity Trust, Meheboob, Muzaamat Dawah Islamia, Muslim Association of Malawi, Shifa Trust, our Aim Foundation and Mai Aisha Trust, are Islamic health service providers under Islamic Health Association of Malawi.
