IMF Satisfied with Malawi’s Economy

International Monetary Fund IMF says is satisfied with Malawi’s performance on economy after cyclone Idai

IMF Chief Mission Pritha Mitra revealed this during a press briefing which Ministry of Finance, Economic planning and development conducted in Lilongwe.

The briefing was organized to update the nation on the discussions which IMF team had with Government of Malawi

Mitra said there will be continued discussions with government every 6 months to review the country’s economic status

“IMF is committed to support Malawi to ensure improved economy, health and education among other sectors,” said Mitra

Speaking to journalists Minister of Finance, Economic Planning and Development Joseph Mwanamveka said government of Malawi is looking forward to improved support from IMF
