Fire destroys 10 million kwacha merchandise

Fire has gutted down Manase market in Blantyre and damaged commodities valued at ten million kwacha.

Speaking with Radio Islam chairman for Manase market Elick Bwanali said the blaze started during the night of 26th August 2016.

“By the time I arrived at the scene,I already find fire fighters and police officers extinguished the fire,” said Bwanali.

He said the lost property is mainly of business people whose shops are made of glasses.

Bwanali has therefore asked the council to construct a modern market to prevent such problem.

“I appeal to Blantyre city council to construct a market which can withstand challenges of this kind,” concluded Bwanali.
