Malawi Arrests Tanzanians Of Robbery

Police has arrested 4 Tanzanians on suspicion that they are connected to series of robbery in Limbe policing area.

Deputy publicist for Limbe police Widson Mshane says the suspects are Stephano Idd Mnungu 46, Titho Jackson Kasangula 39, Abu Huruvi 34 and Steward Mwakachinga 34.

Mshane said on November 9 this year police received a report from a Mpingwe resident that unknown criminals invaded her house and stole assorted items including five smart phones.

“The victim reported that the suspects used a tinted Toyota Spacio silver in colour. CID officers from Limbe police arrested the robbers on 21st November at Kameza area in Blantyre,” Mshane said

He further said the police officers recovered the phones and several items suspected to be stolen from different places across the country.

“Preliminary findings show that the four committed similar offences in Zimbabwe, Zambia, Lesotho and Tanzania,” disclosed Mshane

Mshane said investigations are ongoing to make more arrests and recover the remaining items.
