MAM Commends Turkey for Supporting Malawi

Muslim Association of Malawi MAM has commended people and government of Turkey for the support they render to Malawi.

National chairman for MAM Shiekh Idrissa Muhammad made the remarks in Turkey where he is attending the five day African Muslim leaders’ summit.

Speaking to radio Islam sheikh Muhammad says is humbled to attend the summit which had brought together delegates from 42 African countries.

“Many Malawians have benefited from Turkish scholarships which have positively contributed to the country’s development,” he said

Commenting on the summit MAM National Chair says it will provide a platform for Malawi to talk to other international Islamic organisations to come and establish their programs in the country.

Speaking at the official opening of the conference Turkish president Recep Tayyip Erdogan says “my country appreciates the cordial relationship which exists between Turkey and Africa.”

Edorgan therefore has urged delegates at the summit to deliberate issues which are aimed at cementing the relationship between his country and Africa.

Many Malawians have graduated through Turkish scholarship in various disciplines such as medicine, ICT and Engineering.
