MAM distributes maize to hunger victims in Rumphi

Muslim Association of Malawi has distributed five hundred bags of maize to hunger stricken families in Rumphi district

Speaking after receiving the maize people from the area of Paramount Chief Chikulamayembe appealed for more food aid to sustain their life.

On behalf of the beneficiaries Group Village Headman GVH Mwachanda said people in his area are starving since they harvested little this year after elephants had destroyed their crops in the last growing season.

Chief Mwachanda commended MAM for the gesture describing it as a friend coming at right time.

“We ask other religious organizations to learn from MAM in reaching out to the needy regardless of the religious background,” GVH Mwachanda

The donation is made with financial support from Kuwait Horrizons Charity Society.

On his part, one of the officials of the Society, Sheikh Muhammad Man’dan encouraged the affected families to praise Allah in all times.

Man’dan said he teaches people to seek Allah’s guidance in good or bad times.
