MH AQSA & Imman Sisters celebrate Eid at hospital, prison

Mangochi AQSA women Dawah and Iman Sisters have celebrated Eid by donating assorted items at Mangochi District Hospital and Prison.

Speaking to radio Islam when donating 42 bags of maize flour, 2 bags of rice, 3 goats and 10 liters of cooking oil, Chairlady for AQSA Fatima Nanyumba said they had done the initiative because they love the patients and prisoners.

“The program was conducted as per teachings of Islam, which encourages Muslims to share the little they have with the needy,” said Nanyumba

She said they do such initiative every Eid so that they also enjoy the day.

Nanyumba emphasised that her orgnaisation will continue conducting similar programs as they attract rewards from Allah Almighty.

Representative of district health officer Dr Stalile Zimkanda thanked AQSA and Iman Sisters for the donation.

“The program is an encouragement because has assisted the hospital with necessary needs,” Zimkanda said.

She said the community has done a commendable job at government institution.

Therefore Zimkanda asked well wishers to help patients because they need their care.

Speaking after meeting inmates at Mangochi Prison chairperson of Iman Sisters Memory Silajji said they thought of celebraating Eid with Muslim inmates as they reequire donations to sustain their lives.

“Imman Sisters organisation plans to reach the elderly who also need assistance,” disclosed Sillaji.

Officer in charge for Mangochi prison Senior Supretendant Manyamba said 270 inmates will benefit from the donation.

“The community should help prisoners with food chakudya since the country is facing economic crisis,” Manyamba said

Muhamad Cassim one of the prisoners thanked AQSA and Iman sisters for the donation.

Therefore he asked well wishers to support inmates.
