Muslim Women Organizations Meet Muslim Association of Malawi on Pulumutsani Qur’an House initiative.

Muslim Association of Malawi MAM has appealed to leaders of Muslim women organizations in Lilongwe to contribute the little they have to Pulumutsani Qur’an House initiative.

The request was made by MAM Vice national Chairman Sheikh Yusuf Chibwana during a meeting with Muslim Women Organisations in the district on the initiative.

Sheikh Chibwana said they decided to bring together all leaders of various Muslim Women Organizations in Lilongwe to inform them about how they can contribute to the initiative.

“Muslim women play a significant part in Islam therefore their commitment will help to spread the message to the members,” sheikh Chibwana said

He then advised Muslim Women Organisations to ignore bad perceptions which some people have about MAM saying they will not help to fundraise the needed money.

In his remarks Chairperson of Central Region Pulumutsani Quran House Fundraising Committee William Ishmael Lapkeni expressed happiness that Muslims are contributing to the initiative.

“There is hope that the required 118 million kwacha will be collected because Muslims believe in charity,” Lapkeni said

Sister Kassam who is Trustee of Noor Women Organisation said “Quran House Campaign is not an issue of only one person but all Muslims hence the need to work together to protect the house.”
