The two day national ant corruption conference is underway in Blantyre

Opening the conference President Dr Lazarus Chakwera has called on parliament to close gaps that hinder the consolidation of laws in the fight against corruption

Chakwera called for the new approach which should be used in dealing with the malpractice

Speaking on the sidelines of the conference David Young of American embassy said public institutions which are fighting against the vice should not be blocked

In his remarks chairperson of national ant corruption alliance Moses Mkandawire expressed concern over the omission of the parliamentary amendment which allows the bureau to seek consent from director of public prosecution to prosecute cases
