Opposition Political Parties Form Electoral Alliance

Four opposition political parties in the country have formed an electoral alliance with the hope to unseat president professor peter Mutharika.

The parties are UTM of Vice President Dr Saulos Chilima, PP of former president Dr Joyce Banda, AFORD and Tikonze Peoples Movement.

A press statement released on Friday says the parties have agreed to support one presidential candidate who will be announced on Monday 4th February in Lilongwe.

Commenting on the alliance one of the social-political analysts has said it is a sign of maturity in politics.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Islam, Humphreys Mvula said with the current political situation going into an alliance is the best as it could help in getting more votes.

Mvula advised the parties in the new alliance to be focused and united if they are to achieve their goal.

He has also asked the leaders to provide information about the alliance to their grassroots and how they will benefit if voted into power.

Meanwhile, the analyst has asked the leaders to form committees which will enforce discipline and conflict management.
