UK Provides 4.5 million Dollars For Disaster Victims In Malawi

UK Department for international development DFID has provided 4.5 million dollars to fund UNICEF, WFP and Red Cross humanitarian response for people affected by heavy rains and floods in the country.

DFID Malawi head of office David Beer says the donation includes funds for food, health, shelter, logistics water and sanitation.

He said UK is committed to supporting all affected Malawians.

UNICEF Malawi representative Johannes Wedenig said the funding will allow them to scale up their response and help more people.

WFP Malawi country director said this timely contribution will assist in stepping up assistance to areas worst affected by the floods.
