Councillors close Lilongwe city council over salaries

Councilors in Lilongwe have closed offices of the city council over the delay of their salaries

Mayor of the city Juliana Kaduya who led the councilors said the councilors want government to transfer chief executive officer John Chome

Kaduya says “the assembly has been failed to give them their money amounting to over 9 billion kwacha.”

She has asked ministry of local government to intervene because they are failing to carry out their duties due to lack of money
