Kids Drown at Tedzani Power Station

Four kids have drowned at the upstream side of Tedzani Power Station pond.

According to spokesperson of Electricity Generation Company EGENCO Moses Gwaza early afternoon on 27 October 6 kids from surrounding villages aged between 2 and 4 went playing at the pond.

Gwaza says all bodies have been recovered.

“Details on what actually transpired are sketchy at this moment and the public will be informed accordingly when the facts have been found,” he said

Gwaza added that to facilitate the recovery of the bodies the Tedzani pond level was lowered as such they remained with only one machine on load at Tedzani III while all machines are at standstill at Tedzani I &  II.

He said they were building the pond to resume running of the machines that are at standstill.
