Malawi Receives 9 million dollars from World Bank for Medicine

Ministry of health has received 9 million dollars from World Bank for the purchase of medicine

Speaking in Likoma district during the commemoration of community health day Khumbidze Kandodo Chiponda says the first consignment will arrive in the country this week

In his speech President Lazarus Chakwera says his government will employ 10 thousand medical personnel and has constructed over 70 out of 900 health posts earmarked across the country

He also said plans are underway to introduce Community training on how to care for government resources in order to preserve them for the benefit of all.

Commenting presidential taskforce on covid19 and cholera Dr Chalamira Nkhoma said the taskforce is at an advanced stage of developing a new national cholera control plan which will help eliminate cholera by 2030.

Member of Parliament for Likoma district Ashems Songwe asked government to turn the district into a city, deploy additional vessels and increase the bags of maize allocated to the district
