Parliament Urges Committee Chairpersons to Deliver Public Needs

First deputy speaker of parliament has urged chairpersons of parliamentary committees to work according to public expectations.

Madalitso Kazombo has said this during the opening of orientation workshop of the chairpersons at Wamkulu Palace in Lilongwe.

Kazombo said the workshop is important because they will learn how to lead the committees in a right way for the betterment of Malawians.

” I told them to work with every Member of Parliament despite their differences in political parties,” he said

Kazombo asked development partners to help parliament to do research in order to function effectively.

In his remarks, immediate past chairperson of public accounts committee in Kenya Nicolas Gumbo asked the law makers to be accountable.

Chairperson of public accounts committee Ken Kandodo stressed that the workshop is important to them as they will have enough knowledge on how to lead the committees for the benefit of the country
