Police warns truck drivers on strike against harassment

Malawi Police Service MPS has warned professional truck drivers who are on strike against harassing their fellow motorists and others.

According to a statement released by MPS signed by national police spokesperson, James Kadadzera the drivers are forcing other drivers to park their vehicles and join the strike.

“In some instances, the drivers are blocking the roads with trucks hence obstructing traffic passage,” Kadadzera

Last year the truck drivers also boycotted work in order to force their bosses to increase their salaries.

The then Minister of Transport intervened to end the strike after agreeing to be giving them not less than 80, 000 kwacha a month.
