Malawi and South Korea Sign Memorandum of Understanding

Malawi and South Korea have signed memorandum of understanding on various sectors of development

The signing ceremony happened during the one day visit of Prime Minister of South Korea, Dr Han Duck-Soo

Through the memorandum, Malawi will benefit in diverse areas including Agriculture, Health, Education and Technology.

He landed in the country in the morning of 30 October 2023 where among other things, he discussed bilateral relationship between government of Malawi and South Korea.

The Prime Minister arrived through Kamuzu International Airport and  welcomed by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Secretary to President and Cabinet, Colleen Zamba among other government officials.

Duck-soo holds bi-lateral discussions with President Lazarus Chakwera on various areas of cooperation

The visit, which is Duck-soo’s first to Malawi, is part of his tour to some African countries including Cameroon and Togo.

In 2008, government of Malawi and South Korea signed a memorandum of understanding which was designed to enhance relationship between the two countries through enhanced security cooperation.

Diplomatic relations between Malawi and Korea was established were established in 1965.
