Minister of mining has disclosed that the 2013 geological survey report is ready and will be out on 15th February.

This comes a day after attorney General, Thabo Chakaka Nyirenda, told parliamentary committee on natural resources that all export proceeds should come to Malawi to enable the country benefit from the foreign exchange generated.

Speaking at a press conference in Lilongwe, minister responsible, Dr Albert Mbawala, says the survey will be used as a tool for marketing the country’s minerals to investors.

Mbawala says they are updating the country’s data management and information system so that it attracts mining investors.

He adds that the Ministry is negotiating with mining investors at Kasiya rutile mining site to revise their work plan so that the country can get the much needed forex
