AQSA hands over sewing machines to Muslim women

AQSA has handed over sewing machines to 40 Muslim women who have completed their one year madrassa and tailoring lessons at Mai Fatima centre in Songani

Speaking during the ceremony Member of Parliament for Zomba Malosa constituency Grace Kwelepeta described involvement of faith based organisations in women empowerment programs as crucial to development

Kwelepeta said empowering women with knowledge and skills that spur their economic status has the potential of changing the whole society

On his part Zomba AQSA coordinator Sheikh Abdul Razaq Liwonde advised women to use the machines for intended purposes in order to do away with economic challenges

Appreciating the gesture Lozina Sanudi said the tailoring skills obtained will help her family in generating income
