
CDEDI asks Auditor General to release CDF report
Centre for Democracy and Economic Development Initiatives CDEDI has given office of auditor general 14 days to release a report on how Constituency Development Funds CDF have been used in all constituencies across the country
At a press briefing executive director of CDEDI Sylvester Namiwa says was compelled by Santhe creative youth empowerment Organisation which wrote the district commissioner for a report on the use of CDF in Kasungu south constituency from 2016 to 2025.
Namiwa also demanded an audit of the voters’ data base to ensure that all names of eligible voters are intact in the voters register
He says CDEDI has asked ministers of finance and local government to face the voters and tax payers on the assets they have accumulated in their positions through a program organised by the initiative in seven days time.
Namiwa says President Lazarus Chakwera could lead by example as a religious leader in the fight against corruption
He said Chakwera was supposed to congratulated the former director general of ant corruption bureau Martha Chizuma who has been appointed to a big position at World Bank.
