DPP dragged to Court on President Eligibility

Three people have applied to High court to rule that Peter Mutharika is not fit to continue as president of Democratic Progressive Party DPP

Judge Simeon Mdeza received the application from Felix Malata, Ken Msonda and Thomas Nyirongo

They asked the court to rule that Mutharika is not eligible to contest as a presidential candidate for DPP at the upcoming national political conference

Furthermore the trio wants the court to order that an interim president be appointed by the central committee of the party

In February last year the (DPP) National Governing Council members claimed that Mutharika was no longer in charge of the party’s decisions.
