First African Drone Academy in Malawi graduates 25

The first African Drone Academy in Lilongwe which is run by UNICEF has graduated twenty five students.

The grandaunts who are both males and females come from different African countries such as Uganda, Kenya and Democratic Republic of Congo and Malawi.

Speaking during the graduation vice chancellor of Malawi University of Science and Technology Dr Address Malata said the grandaunts have acquired skills which will help in all sectors of life.

“They will for example use the skills to help in accessing hard to reach areas with drugs and assess the impact of natural disasters,”Dr Malata says

In his remarks one of the senior officials of Civil aviation James Chakwera said the drones are very vital in provision of health services, agricultural activities and during disasters among others.

One of the grandaunts Cynthia Phiri said the skills acquired will change lives of Malawians and citizens of other African countries
