The number of people who are supposed to gather for prayers has been reversed to 100.
The reversal has been agreed during a meeting held between Government and Religious leaders on thursday.
This follows complaints the Muslim Association of Malawi and other Religious organisations lodged after Government gazzetted guidelines restricitng people who gather at praying places to no more than 10.
Confirming the development,MAM Spokesperson Sheikh Dinala Chabulika said the Presidential taskforce on Covid-19 has been given a task to look into the matter further.
“We urge all Muslims in the country to continue observing preventive measures for the pandemic,”Sheikh Chabulika stated.
