Health authorities in Mchinji urge communities to follow cholera preventive measures
Health authorities in Mchinji have urged communities to continue following hygiene practices for the district to remain cholera free.
The call comes following continued reports of cholera outbreak in neighboring Zambia and Mozambique that border the district.
District Health Promotion Officer for Mchinji Frank Kaphaso said though the district has not registered any Cholera case for the past two years, there is need to step up efforts to control the disease.
Kaphaso added that Covid-19 has added an advantage of practicing hygiene, the tendency he said is helping to prevent waterborne diseases.
He therefore pleaded with communities to construct and use toilets accordingly to ensure hygienic practices.
