IHAM & UMMAH Train Muslims on first aid

Islamic Health Association of Malawi IHAM in conjunction with Uniting Malawi Muslims Activity Hub UMMAH has equipped Muslims with first aid skills to use during disasters in order to save lives of people.

Speaking with Radio Islam, Hajji Dayton IHAM Executive secretary said the training which was held in Blantyre and Lilongwe is part of their annual activity to equip the community with skills.

“Sometimes people lose life due to lack of first aid skills which might help a person who is critically ill before rushing to the hospital that is far,” Dayton said

Commenting Abas Pajuwani from UMMAH said the skills are vital because many people are unaware of what to do during disasters in order to save someone’s life.

He asked the trainees to use the skills acquired in times of emergency and accidents.

One of the participants from Swalihina institute for Muslim affairs in Bangwe, Swaleh Ngulinga commended IHAM and UMMAH for the training, saying the skills are needed during disaster
