Islamic organisations urged to establish education infrastructures for women
Muslim women organization has appealed to Islamic Organizations to establish education infrastructures for women in the country.
National coordinator for Muslim Women Organization, Asiatu Lipenga made the appeal during graduation ceremony of women organized by Bayan Islamic Organization, at Chamba 2 Masjid in Machinga district.
“If a woman is educated the family prospers,” Lipenga said
Chairperson for Bayan Islamic Organization Jaziru Ghama said they established women schools in Machinga and Zomba after observing that there was a gap between men and women in terms of education.
Ghama said “we have plans to establish other Islamic Centres in the North to reach everyone in the country.”
One of the graduating students at the function commended MWO and Bayan Islamic Organization for the knowledge they have acquired and the prizes as they are beneficial to their families.
Over 200 students received Islamic books, house hold materials, clothes and laundry soap.
