
Malawi launches Health Emergency Preparedness Response and Resilience
Government has launched Malawi Health Emergency Preparedness Response and Resilience (HEPRR).
Speaking during the launch Minister of Health, Khumbize Kandodo Chiponda said the five-year programme which runs up to 2030 is funded by World Bank to a tune of 60 million Dollars.
Chiponda expressed concern over the country’s response and preparedness capacities as it still faces challenges despite strides made in building leadership and coordination of public health activities.
World Bank Regional Practice Director, Daniel Dulitzky, emphasised on the need to invest in crisis and pandemic response.
He said happy to collaborate with government of Malawi in improving health sector as they gear to respond to pandemics and crises.
