Malawi Police Service Remembers the Fallen Heroes

Inspector General of Police, George Kainja has asked police officers in the country to be vigilant all the time by being prayerful as they work in providing security to the country.

Kainja said this at police headquarters in Lilongwe during a memorial service for police officers who died in the line of duty.

Kainja said police officers have gathered to remember heroes of Malawi Police Service who showed the spirit of patriotism and absolute passion to the country by dying in line of duty.

In his speech, Kainja commended the fallen police officers for their selfless heart by sacrificing their lives for the nation.

He said they will always be remembered as heroes who showed the spirit of patriotism and absolute passion to our beloved nation.

Kainja continued by appreciating what police officers have been doing for the nation despite at times feeling empty, helpless and unappreciated.

He said police officers face a lot of challenges on duty hence the need to seek God’s intervention every time.

He further assured police officers that God shall forever reward them for the dedication they render to the nation.

Kainja continued by asking police officers in the country to remain united, ever committed to their services and continue depending on God.

Meanwhile, a total of 14 police officers died in line of duty since 2017 to date in different scenarios.
