MAM calls for calmness amongst Muslims on the billboard saga

Muslim Association of Malawi has urged muslims to maintain peace and calm as it engages concerned parties in the billboard restoration saga.

Spokesperson for MAM Sheikh Dinala Chabulika made the call during a press conference in Blantyre.

“Islam is a religion of peace and does not promote demeaning other religions.”He said.

Sheikh Chabulika who was in the company of reknown muslim scholars reiterated the call for Blantyre City Council to restore the billboard within seven days.

He also disputed rumours that Islamic Information Bureau is working on another bill board with a different message.

Meanwhile MAM has given the Blantyre City Council a 7 day ultimatum for the billboard to be restored.
