Muslim scholars challenged to deal with shiaism in Malawi
Muslim scholars in the country have been challenged to take an active role in the fight against influx of Shias in Malawi.
The remarks were made at a two days’ workshop for Muslim scholars at Blantyre Islamic Mission BIM in Blantyre.
Speaking during the official opening of the workshop, guest of honour Maulana Saeed Ommar, said Malawi has been experiencing rapid growth of Shiaism a development which easily deviates true teaching of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him.
“Sheikhs have a great role to teach Muslims in the country and I call upon all Muslims to defy Amaan Declaration whose motive was to block sheikhs in condemning groups that have left true teachings of Islam,”Maulana Ommar said
In his remarks, Principle of BIM, Sheikh Muhammad Naduwih, said he organized the conference to bring together ullamahs to share ideas.
“Such seminars will help ulamahs to tackle critical issues regarding Islam that are based on evidences,” said Sheikh Naduwih.
The workshop was organized under the theme “Adherence to the Teachings of Prophet Muhammad peace be upon him: Beliefs and Methodologies.”
