LUANAR holds first graduation
President professor Arthur Peter Mutharika has asked Malawians to seriously consider farming as a profession.
Muthalika was speaking during the graduation ceremony of over 600 students from Lilongwe University of Agriculture and Natural Resources LUANAR.
“As the population is fast growing my government will expand and build more universities in order to accommodate many students,” said Mutharika.
He advised the graduating students to venture into entrepreneurship and behave as educated people.
Speaking chairman for LUANAR council James Seyani said delinking of LUANAR from University of Malawi has improved its performance.
Seyani said the university has now expanded to Blantyre as well as Mzuzu through its distance learning program.
He added the construction work at LUANAR campuses will help to increase intake.
