Presidential powers reduction awaits laws changing-Chakwera
President Dr Lazarus Chakwera says the reduction of presidential powers awaits the changing of laws by parliament
Chakwera said this when he was responding to 5 questions from members of parliament in the national assembly
The president began with commenting on the speech which leader of opposition Kondwani Nankhumwa made on the state of national address
Responding to the question on the prosecution of cases the president stressed that executive arm of government cannot interfere with independence of judiciary
He said ant corruption has recruited 16 lawyers to help in the prosecution of corruption cases
On the construction of Mangochi airport Chakwera says is waiting financing and will be implemented after the completion of Mzuzu and Chileka Airport
Then Nankhumwa asked the president on security lapse and Chakwera condemned the lawless saying is bad to development of Malawi
Social political analyst victor Chipofya says is unnecessary for the ruling and opposition members of parliament to be pointing fingers at each other instead of resolving challenges which Malawians are facing
Chipofya said this after noting the childish behavior which the lawmakers showed when the president was responding to questions in parliament
Chipofya said Chakwera must fulfill the promises he made to Malawians during the campaign
