Pro-democracy groups give Eswatini’s King a year to resign
Pro-democracy groups led by South Africa’s Economic Freedom Fighters (EFF) have given Eswatini’s King Mswati the third a year to resign
This was said as EFF led the blockage of border posts for six hours in solidarity with Eswatini chapter of the party’s call for democracy and human rights.
Mthokozisi Makhunga, EFF deputy president in Eswatini, told journalists that King Mswati is used to taking taxpayers’ money and spreading it for his lavish lifestyle with his wives and children.
Early this month, the crisis in Eswatin along with Mozambique’s insurgency was due for review in Pretoria at SADC Summit but were removed from the programme because of unavailability of presidents of Botswana and Mozambique.
