Radio Islam listeners Association’s Quran competition hits finale

Malindi Radio Islam Listeners Association has presented prizes to winners of Quran competition.

The presentation ceremony took place at Chimbende primary school in the area of Traditional Authority Chowe in Mangochi.

Speaking during the ceremony Lameck Allen, trustee for Malindi Radio Islam listeners Association said due to covid-19 indefinite closure of schools, they thought of organizing Quran competition as one way of making the children busy so that they should not associate themselves in bad morals.

“We conducted the competition in three categories of half Juzz, one Juzz and two Juzz.

“I am encouraging parents to send their children to madrassa and school rather than South Africa,”Allen said.

In his remarks chairperson for Mangochi Radio Islam listeners Association Iman Che Bunaya, commended Malindi Radio Islam Listeners for helping the children refrain from things which could put them in danger such as early pregnancies and marriages.

Bunaya urged the competitors to continue keeping themselves busy by reading the Quran and other books.
He took advantage of the ceremony to inform the gathering about covid-19 and its preventive measures.
One of the winners Sainatu Issa said was happy that she had memorized the Quran and received the prize which is beneficial to her life.

Issa thanked the organizers for their effort and advised Muslims to focus on education.
