Soldiers hold freedom march
Soldiers at Changalume barracks have held a freedom march in Zomba.
Speaking after the March Zomba city Mayor Meliya Douglas said is confident that their relationship will help in improving welfare of residents, maintain peace and order which the city has cherished for years.
“The commemoration of the freedom of the city also falls at the same date when Zomba was reinstated as the city in 2009,” Douglas said.
On his part officer for Changalume barracks lieutenant Colonel Rodrick Mbalakumwendo said is grateful for the freedom they were conferred by the city.
Mbalakumwendo added “this shows we are part and parcel of the council and can be incorporated in the city activities.”
He then assured the city residents that they are always available for their security.
