Suleman vows to pressurize government on G to G Fuel Procurement Policy

Member of Parliament for Blantyre City South has vowed to continue pressurizing government to come out clear on the Government to Government fuel deal that president Chakwera wants to venture into with United Arab Emirates UAE.

The remarks come following Chakwera’s announcement that he will be travelling to UAE to sign the agreement as a measure to reduce the fuel scarcity issue that has affected the country for over a month now.

Speaking after he was suspended from parliament Friday morning Suleman, says the first deputy speaker of parliament Madalitso Kazombo did not give him chance to ask his question.

According to Sulemani there is a lot of corruption in fuel deals and he fears that if the president is involved, issues of transparency and accountability will be jeopardized as no one can be bold enough to question Chakwera should anything go wrong.

Meanwhile, Suleman has been suspended for five days and is expected to come back to parliament on 8th December.
