Beneficiaries names duplication affecting EPWP- DPD

Blantyre District says duplication of names of beneficiaries in Enhanced Public Works Program and Mtukula pakhomo is affecting output of EPWP.

Speaking on progress of EPWP in the district, Director of Planning and Development, Tamanya Halawa, said people have started pulling out of the program due to among others that hard surface and heat.

Halawa disclosed that almost 12 people have already withdrawn from EPWP a development he described as unfortunate.

“There is need for people to take the project as their life changing program considering effects of climate change the country is going through,” Halawa said

However, Halawa said work is progressing well as they are now in second circle in all five catchment areas.
