Malawians are anxiously waiting for New cabinet

With just a day to go before the end of January, Malawians are anxiously waiting for President Lazarus Chakwera to fulfil his New Year promise of appointing a new and lean cabinet.

Speaking in an interview with Radio Islam, a political scientist from University of Malawi, Ernest Thindwa, has asked Malawians to exercise patience and allow the president to come up with the cabinet.

According to Thindwa, selecting a cabinet is the president’s prerogative, as such, he should not be pressurized.

Thindwa says, considering the fact that government is being run by an alliance and it is not easy for the president to select the members as such Malawians should wait until the last day of the month.

Thindwa says the president is aware that failure to fulfill his promise may disappoint Malawians.
