Malawi Electoral Commission MEC has said free facemasks will be given to voters and all electoral stakeholders at a polling station on 30th March.
Chief elections officer Sam Alufandika says the 320,000 facemasks will be made available with support from Presidential Taskforce on Covid-19.
“Despite this arrangement, the Commission is still encouraging electoral stakeholders who have their own masks to wear them when going for voting,” Alufandika
Meanwhile MEC’s Director of Media and Public Relations Sangwani Mwafulirwa says the polling will not be stopped by rain because the commission will shift the process into classrooms and tents
The by-elections will be held in 7 constituencies and two wards following death of representatives and nullification of results by High court
