Muslim MP urges Muslims to register for elections

Member of Parliament for Mangochi Mkungulu Aisha Mambo Adams has urged Muslim women to register in order to vote in 2019 tripartite elections.

Adams made the remarks during a women’s dawah organized by United for Islam UNIF at Kukada village in Mulanje over the weekend.

Adams who was the guest of honor said “if they register will vote and choose right leaders in next year’s polls.”

She urged Muslim women to seek Islamic knowledge and promote unity as they are fundamental elements in religious development.

“I appeal to Muslim leaders to construct more Islamic madrassas for Muslim women to acquire Islamic knowledge,” Adams said.

Concurring with Mambo, Linda Chimenya a graduate from international university of Sudan said “a Muslim woman has a big role to play towards the development of Islam and the country.”

The dawah which was held under the theme The Role of a Muslim woman brought together women from Mulanje, Phalombe, Chiradzulu and Mozambique.
